falling H2O

I had one of the best weekends ever. Ryan and I couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more perfect time.

This was my first time at Niagara Falls, and wow. So much water, moving so quickly.

On Saturday, we did stuff on the American side. The Cave of the Winds was pretty awesome. We were able to walk down to the base of the Falls and we got soaked. It was like being stuck in a hurricane.

We walked around Goat Island for the afternoon, admiring the Falls. I can’t believe that we left pouring rain in Maryland and arrived in New York for a gorgeous day. I’ll be posting my pictures on webshots eventually.

We crossed the border into Canada and went to bed pretty early Saturday night. On Sunday, we did stuff on the Canadian side. It was really nice. There is a much better view of the Falls from there and the landscaping is more beautiful.

We went on the Maid of the Mist boat and the Whirlpool Aero Car. But, my favorite part of the whole trip was the Butterfly Conservatory. We were able to go into a huge greenhouse-type room with tons of butterflies all over the place. It was incredible!

We also randomly drove and ended up at Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes are so tremendously large. It’s bizarre that it looks like an ocean, but doesn’t smell like salt.

Oh, and I gambled for the first time in my life. We went into a casino and wasted $10 in the slot machines. I seriously don’t understand the fun in it. It made me sad to lose my money. [I guess it would have been more enjoyable if I won something.] The whole atmosphere was really intimidating too. So many sounds and lights. I don’t have any interest in gambling again.

Anyways, I’m trying to keep this short. No one cares about all the tiny details [And I’ve been wake for 18 hours - since 4am]. I’ll let you know when my pictures are posted, since I’m sure you’re all dying to see them. Ha. ;)

We landed in Baltimore at 8am this morning and I was able to make it to work in time for 10am. It was super, even though I was exhausted (and still am). And then, Ryan took me out to lunch! Aw, it was so sweet. He didn’t go to work today, because he would have been too late. Instead, he came to my office and we went out to eat (and I took an hour longer lunch than I was supposed to.. hehe).
