Ryan's Chicago Itinerary
Friday, April 3, 2009 - Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Howdy, folks! How about this? Another trip! It won't be for vacation this time, unfortunately, but it will still be a refreshing time away from the office. I'm headed off to Chicago by myself for a Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference. Originally, Megan was going to join me for the early part of this trip (hence the VERY early flight, a whole 2 days before the thing officially kicks off), but she's got her own thing going on in wonderful Gettysburg, PA! Exciting! So, that leaves me to my own devices on Friday and Saturday, but I guess I'll find something to do in one of my favorite cities. Don't expect much on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, as I'll be doing the whole work/conference thing, but that should be a great time in an of itself! And there's no sarcasm there, my friends... seriously!
~ Ryan

All times are local to the particular city. All of this trip will be in the Central Time Zone, which is one (1) hour later than my friends and family on the East coast who may be stalking me.

Once again, I will be bringing a webcam along with me for the ride. Since it's just me on this trip, you can expect some pretty views of Chicago from the hotel room, but that's about it. Whenever I can, I will try to pump new images to this page every 20 seconds - no need to open a new window or refresh! If the picture doesn't update, then I have the webcame off. Just check back later.

Okay, so I'm taking the easy way out by combining the itinerary into one blob, but this isn't like a regular trip, folks. Upon landing at O'Hare Airport [1] on Friday, I'll head north, likely to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've been there before, but when Megan and I went, we did not have a chance to check out the Milwaukee Art Museum [2]. From there, I'll head back to Chicago and possibly grab some lunch or dinner with my colleagues, who are flying in later in the day. On Saturday, I'll spend some time exploring the town [3], possibly checking out the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, Highland Park, Millennium Park, The Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, and whatever else comes my way. Then, Sunday through Wednesday, I'll be engrossed in the conference before grabbing a flight [4] back to Baltimore on Wednesday night.

Don't have time to read all the nonsense above? I don't blame you. Just check out the map below to see our guesstimated route.

Just as before, these are some links where you might be able to track our flight. With all of these sites, be sure to hit refresh (F5) and click 'Retry' as applicable to view the latest information.
