Ryan, Megan, Alex, and Katie's Dallas Itinerary
Saturday, January 10, 2015 - Sunday, January 11, 2015
Wait a minute... weren't we just here a few months ago? Yes... but Southwest had one of their crazy deals to fly into Dallas again - this time at $44 a pop! That's too tempting! So, we are taking a weekend trip to escape the below-freezing temperatures of Maryland to go to the just-freezing temperatures of Texas. It'll be a very cold and very wet trip, so we'll be confined to indoor stuff for most of this trip. And there's nothing wrong with indoor stuff. After all, the Ebola patients have long since gone, and now we're just left with earthquakes. No problem - we've gone through that before. So let's get started!
All times are local to the particular city. This trip will take place entirely in the Central Time Zone (1 hour behind Eastern).
You know the drill. If we have signal and feel like setting up the webcam, the pictures above will start changing.

Saturday, January 10
After another sleepless night (because we don't pack anything until the last minute), we fly out to Texas in the early morning hours of Saturday, landing amongst clouds around 10:30am. Our first stop is a repeat, for Alex's sake - the Perot Museum of Nature and Science . He hasn't stopped talking about racing dinosaurs, so we might as well check that out again. We'll leave there sometime around 2:00 and possibly stop by Reunion Tower , since it's nearby. However, if it's as cold and rainy as it's expected to be, we'll likely skip that stop and head straight to the American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum before it closes for the weekend. And by this point, it'll be game time! Decked out in our Ravens' gear, we'll likely grab dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings to catch the playoff game. Afterwards, we'll dodge the sleet and freezing rain to make our way to our hotel for the night , several miles north of Fort Worth.
Sunday, January 10
That's all, folks! Well, almost. Today is going to be exciting for Ryan and boring for everyone else. It's a day jam-packed with art museums! Yay! Well, it was either that or the zoo, and I think it's a bit cold for the latter. We'll start the day at All Saints for the 9am mass before checking out the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth , the Kimbell Art Museum , and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art . And that's really it. From there, we make our way back East to grab dinner at Applebees , and eventually drop off our rental car around 3:30pm so we can make our flight home. We'll get home after 10:00pm and get up nice and early for work the next day! Oh, and pack for our Louisville trip the following weekend... Ha! That's a joke! We're not going to pack until late Friday night again. It's a tradition now.
And if that's not good enough, we've still got our guesstimated route highlighted below...
