Ryan, Megan, and Alex's South Florida Itinerary
Saturday, February 9, 2013 - Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Howdy! Well, New England is being pounded with 2+ feet of snow. Thank goodness it's missing Maryland this time around because we have a flight to catch! We're on our way to South Florida, baby! We actually booked this trip way back in August when there was a deal that was too good to pass up (not like that's a surprise). Anyway, it's time to thaw out!
All times are local to the particular city. This trip will take place entirely in the Eastern Time Zone.

There's a potential we'll have some images on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoon as we drive across the state, but otherwise, we're not planning to drive much this time around.

Please note that times are ESTIMATES only to give you an idea of what our original plans were. We get distracted and detoured easily, so just check the webcam and/or GPS tracker to get an idea of where we really are.
Saturday, February 9
We're starting off the day with a flight to Jacksonville, where we'll have an hour and a half layover to grab some lunch at the airport. From there, we'll catch another plane down to Fort Lauderdale , landing sometime before 2. Since we're trying to cut down on the cost of the car rental, we'll need to stick around until 2:30 before picking up our vehicle, by which time Alex is going to be begging for a nap. That's perfect because we're looking at driving almost 3 hours to our next stop. On the way, we'll pass through Lake Placid, a town that Reader's Digest ranked as "America's Most Interesting Town." I'm not sure what 'interesting' implies, but I guess we'll find out. We'll probably get something to eat there, and then it's on to our hotel in Sebring .
Sunday, February 10
Today, there's no more football, and baseball hasn't started... so, we'll spend most of the day doing what we do best: Driving! We'll head all the way out to the Gulf Coast and check out Thomas Edison's Winter Home . We'll probably find something else to do around Fort Myers, but we haven't planned that far ahead, yet. After that, it's back to the other side of the state. Hopefully Alex will take another long nap on that 3-hour drive before we find ourselves in Miami . We'll check out the town and then check into our hotel for the night.
Monday, February 11
Today is a big question-mark. I have no idea what's going to happen. We're probably going to stay somewhat local, but it's still too cold and windy for the beach. All I know is that we'll eventually end up in Fort Lauderdale for the night.
Monday, February 12
Today, we'll wake up early in our beachfront hotel to watch the sun rise, and then we'll make the most of the morning. By 2:30, we've got to have the car back to Budget, so we'll probably grab a late lunch at the airport . From there, we get a nonstop, sold out flight home, arriving just after sunset.
Where you at?? We are never 100% on time to our destinations, so we've taken all the guesswork out of figuring out where we are by broadcasting our GPS location. You'll need to manually refresh this page to see our latest movements, but so long as we get cell phone signal, you'll be able to see where we are!
Megan's Location... Ryan's Location...
And if that's not good enough, we've still got our guesstimated route highlighted below...
