Ryan, Megan, and Alex's South Carolina Itinerary
Saturday, January 5, 2013 - Monday, January 7, 2013
Howdy! It's the start of the end - the last few trips before Alex turns 2 years old and becomes an "adult" - at least according to Southwest Airlines. And get this - he still doesn't have a job! What a bum! Anyway, we're packing in a few East Coast trips before February 27, with the first being to South Carolina. We've actually never traveled through the center of the state, so that's exactly what we'll be doing here - with a quick jog to North Carolina and Georgia, of course!
All times are local to the particular city. This trip will take place entirely in the Eastern Time Zone.

We'll be pumping images to this site whenever we feel like it, but if the camera appears frozen for a while, it's likely that we stopped someplace cool or have no internet whatsoever.

Saturday, January 5
Today starts with a morning flight to Greenville/Spartanburg airport . We'll grab our rental car and make an off-highway [2, 3] trip up towards Charlotte. Our first official stop is the Carolinas Aviation Museum , where we can check out the US Airways Flight 1549 "Miracle on the Hudson" plane. From there, we'll head into downtown for a short time, possibly grabbing a bite to eat. From there, we head south to Columbia, South Carolina, where we'll spend the night .
Sunday, January 6
We'll start off the day with an 8:15am mass at St. Joseph and pray for a Ravens victory. From there, we'll go into the city of Columbia to check out the state capitol . Then, depending on the weather, which could be rainy, we'll head off to Congaree National Park for a stroll through the woods. By the early afternoon, we'll take a longer drive to Augusta, Georgia so Alex can get a nap. We'll get some food at a sit-down restaurant when he wakes up, and then it's off to our hotel back in Greenville . We might stop at the Ninety Six National Historic Site on the way back.
Monday, January 7
Nothing to do today other than fly home and go to work. Blegh!
