Ryan, Megan, and Alex's Toronto Itinerary
Friday, May 24, 2013 - Monday, May 27, 2013
Howdy! Can you believe it? We're taking a trip and not flying to our destination! We decided to take the cheaper, driving route this time while following the Orioles up to Canada. We'll be heading out on Friday evening, hopefully in the opposite direction of all the beach-going traffic, and then coming back on Monday from the west - again, hopefully against traffic. In any case, Happy Memorial Day!
All times are local to the particular city. This trip will take place entirely in the Eastern Time Zone.

Friday, May 24
Today is just another run-of-the-mill workday. We'll try to hit the road early (around 5 or 6), and depending on how much traffic we run into (or how late we really leave), we may or may not make a couple stops along the way. The first is in Lewisberry, PA - the site of a gravity hill. If you haven't heard of a gravity hill, check it out! From there, and if it's still early, we'll check out Centralia - the almost ghost-town where an underground mine is still on fire. Then, we'll go to a place where Megan and I first met: Susquehanna University . We might even grab dinner at Applebees, just as we did many times before. Hopefully before midnight, we'll arrive at our hotel in Williamsport .
Saturday, May 25
After grabbing our hotel breakfast, we'll continue our journey north. We might stop at Niagara Falls for the 4th time - for no other reason than it's there. After we cross into Canada, it's another couple hours before we make it to Toronto. If it's still light, we'll go to the CN Tower and look down on the O's game. After that, we'll check out some of the local sights as the sun sets, such as Toronto Island Start Park . We'll valet our car for the night at a Residence Inn .
Sunday, May 26
Today is all about Toronto. We'll start off by going to the St. Lawrence Market , followed by the Steam Whistle Brewery - it's never too early for beer, right? By noon, we'll make our way into Rogers Centre to catch the O's game. We are in the first row of Section 223L. After the game, we'll chill out at High Park before making a very long drive down to Pittsburgh for the night .
Monday, May 27
This is the last day of our travels, but since we have no flight to catch or car to return, we can do whatever we want! There are a lot of options, so we'll just see what we end up having time to do. Early in the AM, we'll go to the Duquesne Incline because that's what your supposed to do in Pittsburgh. From there, we'll go to a Carnegie Museum for a few hours. As we make our way out of town, we'll have to stop by a cemetery - of course! I don't think we'll have time to see FallingWater , as it's a bit off the route, but we should have time for the Flight 93 Memorial Park . We might even continue our depressing drive home by going to the Johnstown Flood National Memorial . If it's not dark yet, we'll go to another gravity hill in New Paris before getting home late in the evening. Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
Where you at?? We are never 100% on time to our destinations, so we've taken all the guesswork out of figuring out where we are by broadcasting our GPS location. You'll need to manually refresh this page to see our latest movements, but so long as we get cell phone signal, you'll be able to see where we are!
Megan's Location... Ryan's Location...
And if that's not good enough, we've still got our guesstimated route highlighted below...
